December Book Club will meet Thursday, December 18th during Advisory. This month, we will be reading What Left of Me by Kat Zhang.
Our first Book Club meeting will be this Thursday, September 25. We will be discussing The Maze Runner by James Dashner. The Maze Runner was the winner of the 2013 Truman Award, and Dashner is the author of many award winning books including The Infinity Ring, The 13th Reality, and Eyes of Minds, as well as the other books in The Maze Runner series The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure, and The Kill Order. The Maze Runner was also released last week as a major motion picture–see trailer below.
If you haven’t yet, sign up in the Library with Mrs. Serum for book club.
I named this the Librarian’s Blog, but I have not used it much as a blog. So I thought about promoting some good reads here.
I feel that magazine articles offer a great chance to read and discover the world. This article, “The New Face of Hunger” by Tracie McMillan, in the August issue of National Geographic addresses a very serious subject in the our country and community. The article is also well written with striking pictures and compelling video. Please take the time to read it. You will benefit in many ways.
