What is Informational Text??  Informational text is often used interchangeably with nonfiction; however the two terms are not synonymous.  All informational text should be considered nonfiction; however not all nonfiction is informational text.  Consider biographies, memoirs, diaries, how-to manuals, etc.  While these are considered nonfiction, they are typically not considered informational text.
